This ultimately leaves Phantom Abyss feeling like a treasure chest that’s only partially filled – it has its share of gems that shine brightly yet leaves enough space to make you wonder about the treasures that could have been.

One of the game’s highlights is how it cleverly bakes a sense of community into its design through the implementation of phantoms – ghosts of other players who came before you and were bested by the temple.
